Proposal Photography in Panama City Beach, 30A & the Panhandle of Florida
You're about to change your whole life…
Let's make sure you never forget a second of it.
Chances are, you've probably got a ring hidden somewhere it doesn't belong (like your sock drawer, glove box, or your buddy's freezer…), a hundred website tabs open trying to figure out the perfect plan, and a knot in your stomach that's part nerves, part pure excitement.
Good! That means you're doing this right.
I'm Hayley, and I've had the honor of hiding in the dunes, behind bookshelves, and around beach access points all over the Panhandle to catch the moment… the one where your person realizes what's happening and the whole world kind of stops for a few moments. Tears, hands over mouths, that sweet half-laugh half-sob… I want all of it, from every angle, so you can hand your future spouse a gallery instead of a fuzzy memory that gets blurrier every year.
You've got this. Let's plan it out.
Why hire a photographer for your proposal?
You could ask a stranger to snap a few pics on your phone or hope that a family member who tagged along can capture the action. But this is the one moment you can't redo. No blurry photos, no cut-off heads, no missing the actual second she says ‘yes’ because your hands were shaking too hard.
I show up early, keep in constant contact with you, blend into the background, and capture the whole story as it unfolds: the walk up, the drop to a knee, the reaction, and the flood of relief and joy after. You get to be fully present in the moment instead of worrying about who's catching it on camera.
Surprise proposals are my favorite kind of chaos
Most of my proposal sessions are complete surprises, and I love it that way!
Here's how it usually goes:
We craft the ultimate plan together: The where, when, and how you're popping the question. If you need some guidance, I’ll recommend some amazing places!
I show up early and disappear. I'll scope the spot ahead of time and position myself somewhere I can see everything without being seen… no tipping off your soon-to-be fiancé(e).
The moment happens, I capture it all, then step in for a few portraits and champagne-pop shots right after (Bring the champagne! Trust me…).
If you want to loop friends or family in for the reveal, or want to make it a whole event with flowers, a sign, string lights, or a private dinner setup, I've got you.
I've partnered with local vendors so you don't have to plan this alone
Want a fully set-up moment like flower petals scattered across the sand, a private setup at sunset, string lights, a marry me sign… the works? I work with trusted local proposal planners and vendors across the Panhandle who can build the whole scene so all you have to do is show up and get down on one knee.
Tell me your vision (or tell me you have no idea where to start) and I'll point you in the right direction.
I shoot proposals all over the Florida Panhandle… and beyond
Panama City & Panama City Beach, 30A, Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Inlet Beach, Alys Beach, WaterColor, Santa Rosa Beach, Destin, and Fort Walton Beach… basically anywhere along our stretch of the Florida Panhandle. And if you’re outside of that area, I do travel!
Beach at sunrise or sunset is the most popular request, but I've also done bookstores, state parks, backyards, and rooftop spots. If you've got a location in mind, I want to hear it!
Proposal Photography Timeline Tips
(so nothing goes sideways)
Book 4-6 weeks out if you can. Sunset and sunrise slots on the beach fill up fast, especially in spring and fall. That being said, if you’re a lot closer to poppin’ the question, still reach out!
Golden hour is your best friend. The hour before sunset gives you that soft, warm light that makes everything (and everyone) look incredible in photos. Sunrise works beautifully too, and it's a great option if you want fewer people around.
Scout your spot ahead of time, or let me help. I know which beach accesses get crowded, which ones catch the best light, and where I can hide without your partner clocking me a mile away.
Have a cover story ready! "Let's catch the sunset" or "dinner reservations" works every time. The less your partner suspects, the bigger the reaction.
Build in buffer time. Give yourself 15-20 extra minutes for portraits and celebration shots after the big moment. You'll want these just as much as the proposal itself.
Have a backup plan for the weather. Florida weather really does its own thing sometimes. I'll help you pick a rain plan so a surprise storm doesn't turn into a surprise reschedule!
However this moment goes down… quiet and just the two of you, or a whole planned-out scene with flowers and family hiding in the bushes… I've got you covered.
Either option include a full session dedicated to your proposal plus a handful of portraits right after, because that "we're engaged!!" glow deserves its own photos too.
